A PASSION FOR COMFORT
STAY WEIRD. If you are looking for a unique & memorable destination, you need to look no further than 12 Main Street East in Kingsville, Ontario. THE GROVE HOTEL is a small boutique hotel, that’s giant on personality. We’ve transformed an 1854 building into 18 rooms of fun, each as different as our guests, to offer a memorable visit each and every time. We provide all the comforts of home, including high speed wi-fi (with our neighbour’s password), sparkling bathrooms (cleaner than you’ll ever see at home – no offence) and beds and pillows made from clouds (we’re pretty sure). Next door, we’ve got THE GROVE BREW HOUSE – an award-winning craft brewery and taproom that will definitely make you feel that BEER is always the answer (even if you can’t remember the question). THE GROVE HOTEL, in Kingsville, Ontario is so seriously sweet, that you’ll never want to leave!
…and the AWARD FOR AWESOMENESS goes to...
SMALL TOWN LOVE. BIG CITY VIBE. We did it! Not only was THE GROVE HOTEL given the Town of Kingsville’s BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD in 2019, we also received TRIPADVISOR’S 2019 TRAVELERS’ CHOICE AWARD AS A TOP 25 SMALL HOTELS IN CANADA. We’re not kidding, it’s true. Of the hundreds, and hundreds, of small hotels in Canada, little us were in the Top 25! <<cue the happy dance>>. To us, it’s a David and Goliath story and we couldn’t be more proud of the honours. It not only recognising us as a great place to stay but it speaks to the fact that we honestly and truly LOVE our guests (and they love us bunch of cool kids too). It’s a match made in boutique hotel heaven and, for us, it really doesn’t get much more awesome than that.
IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK. 12 MAIN STREET EAST. Built in 1854, we need to make a very long story short:
THE PAST. Samuel Rose. Two-story Commercial Hotel. Fire. Walter Pastorius. Three-story Pastorius House. Fire. The King’s Hotel. Fire. Start of Prohibition. Fire. The Moore Hotel. Fire. End of prohibition. Fire. The Kingsville Hotel. Fire. Police and prostitutes. The Fogcutter Dining Lounge. Drunken brawl. Police come back. Fire. The King’s Inn & Suites. Prostitutes come back. Another drunken brawl. SOLD. Renovations. The Grove Hotel. Renovations. The Grove Brew House. THE PRESENT.
We hope that we have honoured its’ history and that THE GROVE HOTEL is the next chapter of awesomeness – so deserving of this location.
Fun place to stay!: We loved the look of the themed rooms at The Grove online and it did not disappoint in person!! It has a fun vibe, is fresh and clean and guests are greeted by friendly and very helpful staff PLUS there’s a microbrewery attached - very cool! We reserved the bike room and it was perfect for 3 ladies (a mirror in the main room would’ve helped). We will definitely stay here again!
The staff, accommodation, catering and service could not be bettered: From our first contact by phone until we left after a 4 day stay, our experience of the staff, food, facilities and assistance given could not be bettered anywhere. We have stayed at larger hotels, with bigger names and even more facilities, they may have been good, but none was better in any way.
Best little hotel in SW Ontario: I couldn't believe the emails, I looked forward to them and actually read them all because they made me smile! The hotel rooms are all different, quaint and charming. Staff is helpful and the hotel is centre of the town. Can't wait to return!!
Funky & very comfortable: The Grove Hotel is as far from a chain as you can get and it is wonderful. Rooms are large and well outfitted with everything one might need. Also they have played with themes in the rooms so they are really interesting. And the place is immaculate! And don't miss the Brew Pub. Great food and service.
Great hotel - so quaint: The room had such flair. Just beautiful. My room was so clean. Everything was just where it should be. The desk was so helpful too. I really enjoyed my stay again. The town is so cute with choices for dinner! I liked the Italian trattoria down the street. O Saracino. Enjoy.
Hidden Gem! I can’t say enough good things about The Grove! I was initially attracted by the trip advisor and other ratings of this hotel when planning an annual girls weekend getaway to explore the north Erie shore wine region. They lived up to every expectation and then some. From the start of our reservation, they moved rooms around so we’d be side by side and have enough space for the 5 of us. All email correspondence was prompt, friendly and no-nonsense. The reminder email communications leading up to the visit were fun and friendly. At our arrival, Eliza was friendly and welcoming and the rooms were ready before we expected. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful and welcoming. If you’re planning to visit Kingsville, I can’t imagine why you’d stay anywhere else. If you’ve never been, the Grove is a great reason to go and enjoy this lovely little town! I will for sure be back.
Great time at The Grove! Our family and friends had all rooms rented out for the night of our daughter's wedding at Mastronardi Estate Winery. Everyone who stayed there really enjoyed the place, from the most comfortable beds (everyone wants to know what kind of mattresses you have!) and bedding to the attached Grove brew pub. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely return maybe in summer weather to take in the wineries and sites of Kingsville. The staff was extremely accommodating to all our needs, especially our early check ins!
Loved this small hotel: I found The Grove doing a random online search and am so happy to have stumbled on to it. The staff is great. We were greeted with a friendly smile each morning and, since it's a small hotel, you actually get to know the people at the hotel. Freshly made cookies and baked good are available (for free) in the lobby. The hotel was nearly full when we booked at our stay and the only room available had a queen bed. I did ask Erika if she would keep us in mind for an upgrade to a king room if there was a cancellation. She did remember and shortly before departure we received an email that a king suite (Room 18) with a balcony was available. That is the kind of great service you get at The Grove. Someone at the hotel has a great social media presence. Emails are witty and fun and the hotel staff do a great job of staying in touch. We will definitely stay here again when we get in the area.
Wonderful short stay in this imaginative place: Stayed with a friend for two nights. Everyone very helpful and friendly, thanks to Erica (hope the name is right!) on the main desk. Rooms are individually designed and there's a lot of attention to detail. Comfortable, large beds, some rooms have a larger sitting area. Well equipped bathroom. Coffee and pastries downstairs which you can help yourself to anytime. Found it very quiet and we liked that the windows open. Grove Brew House restaurant next door is well worth a visit.
