Oops, we did it again…despite this being the year of WTF! and OMGs!, we’ve recently received some HTH that we are again BAMFs (for those of you in my age-group…click here for assistance). So, back to the really big announcement at hand…
Tripadvisor®, the world’s largest travel platform, announced recently the winners of its 18th annual Travelers’ Choice® Awards. This coveted award program celebrates travelers’ favorite hotels, restaurants and airlines around the world, honoring 4,817 unique businesses this year. Winners are calculated based on the quality and quantity of the millions of reviews, opinions and ratings collected on Tripadvisor. With over 8.7 million businesses listed on Tripadvisor, these awards are a true testament to the outstanding service and quality that winners consistently provide to their guests.

THE GROVE HOTEL, in Kingsville, Ontario, (that’s us, little ole’ us) was named as a winner of the 2020 Tripadvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Best of the Best Small Hotels in Canada! We actually ranked 4th among the 25 hotels that received the named honours and the second year The Grove Hotel has been recognized in such an accomplished way. It’s really hard to fathom that our little hotel, in the small town of Kingsville, has been recognized twice as one of the top 1% of all small hotels in Canada! (I’m not really good at math, but I do know that it’s a GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT). We honestly couldn’t make us prouder of our team of the coolest kids in the biz and the amazing community that we live, work and play in.
It is the understatement of the year to say that 2020 has been hard. It’s been more than “hard”, really, it’s been devastating. It’s been the end to so many businesses like ours that we are more than thankful that we have able to hold on (if only by a thread) and wait for brighter days . The brighter days are here and things have definitely taken a turn for the better. This award is the positive mojo we need to keep the good vibes flowing. We can definitely feel it – overall there is the sense that people are ready and willing to go out and explore, but they are deciding to travel closer to home. It appears that everyone is very happy to be enjoying things in their own backyard and that the new travel “bucket list” might just be, anything and everything Canadian, eh! – which still sounds like a perfect vacation to me.
